I have a Dux lounge and ottoman that is in need of rehabbing but I am having trouble deciding between leather or fabric.
The first image is the exact model of chair I have done very nicely in fabric (I would probably do a grey fabric). The vast majority of images I find of similar Dux lounges that have been reupholstered are done in fabric. Very few I have seen in leather (a few whitish ones which I dislike) and just this one image (see link just below image) of one done in a medium brown (try to ignore the nail heads and buttons on arms).
If I plan on keeping this chair for the long haul should I go with leather? Am I compromising the aesthetics of the chair by going to leather (I am assuming they were not originally done in leather)?
I am curious to read others opinions.

I'm partial to fabric myself.
Go register on Maharam and order yourself some samples of Hallingdal, Tonus, Steelcut Trio and whatever else strikes your fancy, then report back. (You can get up to 50 swatches at a time, so go nuts. But they do appreciate it when you return the ones that aren't contenders.)
Leather is nice but there's so much more variety in fabric!

Leather
If you're planning on keeping it, I would say leather. We used to have one that we did in a nice tan leather. It was amazing and we have serious regrets over selling it.
