Reamie, nice Knoll table. You should polish the stainless steel base into a mirror sheen so it will reflect everything around it making the table appear light (I know it weighs a ton) & make the oval top appear as if it is floating in mid air. I also have that table but I made a mistake of loaning it to my sister & I will probably never get that back again.
mark737, I still have all of my early Drexel modern finds, when it comes to functionality, affordability & durability those beat IKEA & others. I mainly get the case goods, the other pieces are too heavy/clunky looking for me but the desks with the floating top & the room divider are worth hunting down (that's on Drexel Perspective, Counterpoint, Profile, Precedent, Today's Living & others)
Thanks Lexi, I do like my minimal/reductive Braun & high design styling of B&O but I have a soft spot for those that have an oddball/outcast aesthetic some say only a parent can love.
This image is not mine but this is where I learned about the Girard radio in a 2018 exhibition called On the Radio at the SFO International airport concourse Terminal 3 I think.
A $1 Cobra Ericofon by Ericsson (licensed to North Electric Company of Galion, Ohio) to accompany the Danmark phone by Henning Andreason from 1977, both in the MoMA (& minimoma) permanent collection.

And an interesting history of the Ericofon by author Lasse Brunnstrom/Ericsson.

Scored a 670/671 in Rosewood and black leather at no cost, but needs serious repairs. broken wing on lower back rest and cracked seat shell. Will need shock mount replacement as well. At least I dont have anything to loose. fiberglass and epoxy repair planned.
Nice! I take it that it came with the ottoman too?

Picked up this simple teak draw leaf table yesterday and assumed it was Danish. I later noticed the faint stamp underneath that said "Made in Singapore for Dixie Furniture Co, Lexington, NC". Apparently, Dixie sold a number of Danish-inspired/made in Singapore pieces, including the Moller 85-like chairs in the second picture. Those are actually tagged as made by Young-Hinkle and distributed by Dixie.
I got a one-footed Kay Bojesen duck awhile back, thinking I could maybe make a new foot for it. But then I decided to ask my brother, an artist and lifelong woodworker, if he wouldn't make it for me in exchange for an apple pie next time he's in town. Of course he said yes and I got a junky teak cutting board from the thrift store and cut it up and sent a hunk plus the one good foot to use as a template.
He sent it back the next day---perfect! (Still gotta put the old label back on the other foot.)
@spanky. Upcycling/recycling/thinking outside the box !!! Well done. Love it.
