not Grossman...
This chair has been attributed to Grossman several times and many still try to claim that it is one of her designs, -naturally since her work brings high prices.
It has since then been cleared that it's not on of her designs, by the owners of the Grossman estate.
It is still widely accepted that the chair was made by a company named 'Chemold'.
What I know for a fact is that the chair is featured in Pierre Koenigs first house, which he built for himself during his student years.
I personally think it looks amazing, no matter who did it...
There are other variations. ...
There are other variations. Some have that kitchy but cool '50s patterns printed underneath the clear coat. Others have fabric coverings (theres one up now I think). While I think they're cool, I can also agree with Beloved that they're not that pretty.
i'm [sort of] a fan
i especially like the leg system, though without some kind of cross bracing, it looks like lateral stability might be an issue.
the back frame also looks sort of clunky to me, not as expressive and graceful as the legs.
the back and seat look more than a little knock-offish, but the departure and experimentation with the base seems enough to effectively restrain my gag reflex.
