Bought a vase marked "Laveno / Made in Italy / 10-52" this weekend, and after consulting the internet came to the conclusion that it either is a copy of a vase by Antonia Campi for Laveno, or.... how do I know? Should I be extati the real thing??? Should I be ecstatic over my five dollar investment or just happy to have a copy of good Italian art-pottery? Her work was supposedly very copied (she was regarded as the Italian answer to Picasso when it came to this art-form).
Any info is highly apreciated - and I love this piece no matter what.... (The link shows a piece by her that has the ecxact same shape and marking, but the one I bought had a very simple, graphic pattern, black lines on white ground). Thxs!
