I have seen a quistgaard ice bucket in a antiques mall. Its all marked correctly the problem is that there is a large crack in the front of the bucket is this a common problem? We are in palm springs so it may have been exposed to lots of sun and high temps.

Is this something that can be repaired?

Not to sure of the value because of the crack its up for $70 does that seem fair?

Pete

Mine
Mine had the same problem and my husband just used wood glue and clamped it close. After it dried he scraped off the wood glue. I used very fine steel wool with Briwax all over the entire thing. It looks great and you can't tell where the crack was at all. Some people oil theirs with teak oil, but I think that makes them look too shiny. I paid 42.50 USD on ebay, including shipping. Mine is the smaller one, I think it's 15 inches or so. I know there's at least one size bigger than mine.
