Hi all:

I bought three "tulip?style" fiberglass chairs at an auction. Two of them are side chairs with quad bases -- obvious knockoffs with a Burke stamp.

The third is an armchair with the traditional tulip swivel base. The stamp is BR50 -- a Knoll production stamp, correct? Could this be an actual Saarinen design? Check out photos at the accompanying link.

Any advice on getting these chairs back into shape?

Thanks!

Saarinen chairs
"BR50" is the stamp used on Saarinen's "Pedestal" chairs for Knoll. I work in mod/con design for a museum and our chair is stamped the same. You may want to try contacting Knoll about restoring, or even a museum furniture conservation dept.
