hello all. I am new here and also new to modern furniture. Well I have a chance to buy a plycraft lounge chair in good condition for 175. the only thing is that it is missing the ottoman. How hard is it to find just the ottoman. Is the pricing reasonable for just the chair? thanks, mod newb.

you did not post a pic.(!?)
So many plycrafts are so-so.
Never worth much but decent chairs with family bond.
I have one but only nice because it was in my family.
If you like it, go ahead. It is worth what you pay and never more.
125 for any plycraft is good.
But don't expect any help without a pic.
Sure
Ottomans turn up from time to time, and are usually pretty cheap. The trick is getting the bases to match.
And $175 is pretty decent price...although you may use the missing ottoman as a way of talking him down. I've seen some ridiculously priced at $1200. (doesn't mean it's worth that much, just that some idiot is asking that much)
.
Rats it's vinyl.
Just google 'cleaning vinyl'. Soap and water?
Fortunately Plycraft used some decent wood veneers.
Just start with a slightly damp cloth. Google 'cleaning wood veneer'
That will help determine what may have been done to it over the years.
No magical juice exists for all similar surfaces.
Enjoy it for what it is.

I am assuming its vinyl. I am really not sure. the seat cushion material feels kinda stiff, that is why I thought it was vinyl. Would the tag say if it is leather? an antique dealer recommended a cleaner with beeswax. she showed me on some old dry antique case and it brought it back within a few seconds. It looked all nice and shiny, also alot cleaner.
OH one more thing the chair is wobbly on the base. how do i tighten it up. once again thanks for the input and advice.
My guess is vinyl--
in which case I'd clean it with a soapy cloth, wipe off the residue, then maybe spray it with Armor All, or a similar vinyl protectant-spray.
Could the wobbliness be caused by the levelers, that screw on the feet (does this chair have levelers)? Maybe they need to be adjusted.

I'm glad I didnt lose on my first piece. I picked up this bottle from an antique store and it is awesome. It's called Howards feed-n-wax. The wood looked dried out and no gloss at all after a few rubs of the feednwax the wood looks great. Warm and glossy and moist. If anybody needs to bring back the wood, this is great stuff. I love this chair I would have gladly paid more for it if the owner would not have gone down on the original price of 225.00
