Hi--i just bought a vintage Plycraft chair and ottoman. The set is in excellent condition for its age, but I was wondering if I could oil the wood on these or should I just leave it alone. It seems a touch dry, and I thought an oiling would give it some pop, but the set would be fine without as well. Thanks in advance...

I think Plycraft chairs have ...
I think Plycraft chairs have a varnish finish which would prevent oil from reaching the actual wood.
I've heard people talk about them having a polyurethane finish but I don't think polyurethane was used until after the heydey of those chairs. Either way, it would also seal the wood and prevent oil from soaking in.
You could try it, though. It might help. I have had five Plycraft chairs so far and the finish has been good on all of them, no dullness or dryness.
