I've quickly made something similar in tube, canvas sling and doesn't adjust but is nice in its way, Can anyone who owns one or who has sat in one let me know if they find it very akward to get out of and if any users have ever sat on the end or if you apply any load to the end if it tips at the drop of a hat or if there is some resistance because of the weight of all the steel? I've raised the seat height a bit and its still akward.Any other obswervations on its use would be appreciated too. Thanks

This is very rough and is made from left overs, I can see where it is diproportionate and have some ideas for different finishes and upholstery methods but would appreciate any suggestions for tweaks or upholstery techniques. I have some rounded steel end caps but nut inside the tube is very slightly too big and they don't fit.
Might try a sling like this.

Very interesting. It does look awkward to get out of.
As to upholstery it seems to be of such simple form that it wants some visual detail in the upholstery.
