i,m working on this sofa and need help from anybody out there. this is the 127" with builtin travertine side tables. the actual wood cushion frame has 4 legs 2 front and 2 back.the metal frame that holds sofa and tables also has 2 legs to hold up the ends.my 2 rear legs on wood cushion frame are shorter than the others and are mounted using a 3/8 plywood shim between metal leg mounting base and frame. anyone know if this shim is original? thanks for your time
I don't know about that particular sofa, but
I have worked on a number of Pearsall lounge chairs and they had all kinds of stuff like that. One had shims that didn't look all that necessary and were kind of in the way of my reupholstery so I removed them, but then the thing didn't sit right once I was done. Grrr.
Pearsall frames are kinda gerry-rigged under the fabric. They're not made like conventional furniture and they are not terribly high quality.
I would guess that your shims are original, in other words.
