My parents just recently bought beautiful new oxblood leather furniture for our family room. However, since we're in a new house, all the walls are white! I'm trying to figure out what color would go best with the furniture. Since I'm in school for interior design my parents look to me to make the color scheme decisions. The room is about 21'x15' and is very open towards the kitchen as well as the the living room if the bifold doors are open. The room faces north and has a large glass sliding door to the back yard and a red brick fireplace as well. However that wall also projects straight into the kitchen with no break.. what do we do? Paint only 3 walls? Not paint? What color? help please! 🙁

Student-
Since you're in school for interior design, you should be making that choice yourself. Seriously. If you're instincts cannot guide you, then get out your color theory book. Don't go asking other people to make the choice for you. Do some research. Do both color research, and some research on the furnishings (style/period). This sort of traditional oxblood furnishing is not really the style/period of topic on this board, which is dedicated to modern design. You could do yourself a service by finding websites that are more inline with that style.
Treat this like an assignment for a class.
Hope that helps.
