Hi everyone,
Is there someone here on the forum who owns a Gian Nicola Gigante lamp for Zerbetto (attachment). reason i'm asking is because i need a favor...I have this lamp but the black base that allows the lamp to be used as a floor lamp went missing whilst moving in our new home...(someone probably had no idea what it was and threw it out).
My brother in law is a welder and could replicate the base but now i'm looking for some reference images, unfortunately all the pictures on the web don't give a good view on the base. Is there anyone here that happen to have this lamp and could make some detailed pictures of the base (top view, side view, front view, back and bottom view)
I know its allot to ask but it would really help me out a great deal....looked all over the net to maybe find some spare parts of the lamp but no luck.
Fingers crossed
Snap, you've got the lamp and the photos above. It shouldn't be too hard to approximate the unknown dimensions in order to fabricate a serviceable facsimile based on those alone. After all, you're not intending to pass it off as "original", are you? See what your BIL can do with what you've got. I'm betting he can get "close enough".
BTW, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of welding required here. Careful sizing and finishing is key. Just be sure to leave allowance for padding material like felt, or something.
@tktoo
If its hard or not wasn't really my question....and no i'm not intending to pass it off as an original.
So nobody who can provide some images?
