Thanks jakjest! I picked it up today and I'm pleased to say you nailed it, even the producer: it's labeled with the Asko mark. The leather is a nice quality and the overall design is very pleasing, although a little corporate.
What do you know about the design or designer? I come by very little finnish design (I have some hongisto chairs by Tapiovaara and that's it)
I'm posting pics tomorrow, ye-ay!

Olli Borg (1921-79) was a Finnish interior architect who used to run his own company while working/co-working with many famed Finnish architects & designers of the day, including Viljo Revell, Antti Nurmesniemi & Olavi Hänninen - and also, for a short period of time, he worked as a main designer for Asko (1964-67).
If memory serves, the chair in question, titled "Rondo", was introduced in 1966 with different upholstery options (patent leather being probably the most common), coupled with an ottoman & a side table.
