Alright, I guess I'll start.
I've been really unlucky at these last few weeks' fleamarkets. Every damn time I came 2 second too late for one fabulous find after the other. Today was no exception. An Egyptian table by Mogens Lassen at $85 - as new they cost over $3000. Great. And that's just one example.
However I guess this thread is about both the cheap finds and expensive purchases. So my latest addition to my home would be a - to me - unknown Saxbo vase I bought Friday at Klassik Møbelkunst (I collect Saxbo vases with reliefs or patterns). It was pure luck that I saw it at Klassik because I hadn't planned of going to their store at all. I had actually intended to buy a beautiful vase by Swen Wejsfelt at the opening reception of SimplyModern's new gallery/store of vintage Scandinavian pottery. But sadly, the vase was already sold when I came 10 min. after they opened. Damn! But then I got this Saxbo vase and though it was expensive, I love it! 🙂 I already have my eyes on the next.
However last Sunday I was lucky enough to find a rare nutcracker by Kay Bojesen shaped as former Danish prime minister, Thorvald Stauning ($20), a large bowl by Conny Walther ($4) and a rarely seen Wave glass pendel by Verner Panton/Holmegaard ($50). All of which I sold later the same day. Damn, spending a few hours walking around early Sunday morning can surely pay off 🙂 Though the best finds are those I wanna keep for myself.
I found an old Mies rattan...
I found an old Mies rattan cantilever arm chair (MR20) for $75 at our local citywide garage sale. I also found a nice antique oriental rug for $45 and this vintage white vase with a simple face sculpted into it (very adler-esque). I wonder who made it .. it is lovely.
I also found a set of four classic thonet chairs for 80 bucks ... but sadly they were painted.

I was the first one at this guys house as he lives in the neighborhood and he said he was going to give all this stuff to good will.

He thought about 15 seconds and said sounds good to me. I am not into Modern stuff like my folks were
I called a truck and he took somestuff to my House, wharehouse and design studio and this stuff is great, that is the best deal i ever made and will make in this business.

Well, I certainly can't top LRF,
But I have recently bought two Cado units...one is a desk unit and one is drawer unit at a local thrift shop for $25 each. I just need to find some mounting rails for them now.
I also got a daybed done in the Hans Wegner style from my parents for a gift so that was great because it was free 😀
