I am sure you are asking about Florance Knoll and Eero Saaraine cause your question would knot make sense any other way
I love all the designs that Florance knoll did with the stainless steel legs very much like her mentor Mies in the International style . Saarine the architect was great died to young. but his chair designs are timeless and will live on for ever, both students of the Cranbrook school and very close family members, It would be hard to
say who is better just like Eames or Nelson. all great in their own way.

aesthetics or metaphysics?
your inquiry begs the question, "how long is a piece of string?"

If one was better than the...
If one was better than the other than people would have entire houses of Saarinen or Knoll. BUT - they often have both. They are both so completely different I almost don't know what this question is about. Saarinen was a genius with the organic shapes of modernism while Knoll was a very talented designer with rectilinear designs, understated and just as sophisticated. Apples and oranges my friend. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

mary ann scott
remember there are no stupid questions.
You can learn from any question,
People who criticize those who ask questions are the dumb ones.
