As second thought, I have no connections (unfortunately :-)) to the above mentioned companies. By reading more carefully the webpage, it is not clear whether the chair in question (or other products) are made in Denmark. But I guess this might be the case, otherwise I would find difficult to fully understand (excluding materials) the not cheap prices. The collection seems to be nice though. Maybe for that price an original chair in decent conditions can be found.

Hi Earnest, thanks for posting, I had not heard of warm nordic before. There is a lot of info on their site, you just habe to find it 🙂 The online shop was only launched in march, so it's all fairly new. Owner is a guy called Fritz Longhi, a danish manager, multi millionaire, investor and chair collector. He boughht K

The chairs might or might not be produced in Denmark. Some of the bigger companies like Carl Hansen have their stuff produced in Poland, and it still costs pretty much. There's quite a lot of handy work involved.

Warm Nordic is putting Kvadrat wool on that chair, so that's worth something. It's not Tonus, which I think is the one that was used on a lot of originals, but still---it's Danish wool.
As for finding a vintage one, you have to be very patient and very vigilant, and willing and able to check sources daily if not multiple times a day. Put some research into finding possible sources aside from the obvious ones, and always check local auctions, even if they mostly deal in conventional furniture (they often get a few odd things that Put your name in with dealers. Be willing to pay for restoration and for shipping. Don't put any restrictions on your search. And mostly, be willing to wait. It helps to have something nice to use until you get your dream chair, then you can sell the interim one to help pay for the one you want to keep long term.
Hi spanky, a serious collector should follow the strategy you describe, or if one has enough money go for the usual places where these pieces are more or less available. After a few considerations the price asked for that chair by warm nord. might be competitive, depending whether an original piece has an added value because it's original. Restoration can be really expensive, if one wants to use Kvadrat on that chair. Anyway, I'll keep my eyes tuned but that's a rare one.
Herringbone, you're right. For example the sewing table is also offered by PP. By the way, some time ago I wanted to post a picture I saw once on the PP mobler website, which I found somehow non-sense. It was a table dressed in a funny manner, surrounded by PP250 chairs covered with wool. I am not sure Wegner envisioned such use.
