Agreed. Very odd. Maybe send a note to JL Moller and ask them for some background info?

What city was this in? That is the wildest/most unexpected piece of danish furniture I

It was in Konigswinter just southeast of Koln.

I've noticed that this type of setup is a very common part of a dining suite in Germany called a 'sitzgruppe'. So it will have certainly been bespoke and in some ways has alleviated me of the disappointment of missing it. In my head it was 3 structurally independent pieces, but judging by this German norm, it was most likely not a dismantling setup rather a bizarre corner shaped Moller bench!

I really dislike the corner seat itself because of the bizarre way it distorts the backrest, but I love the two benches.

Still, to have owned it for the oddity would have been very satisfying.

And for the record, whoever picks it up needs to cord it. It deserves that much! I'd already started going over how one would possibly cord the corner section!

Kyle---you'd probably have to attach extra warp strands to the side rails and somehow work the weft strands in there so that it looked ok. You can do a certain amount of fanning out of the warp strands from a shorter back rail to a longer front rail, but not as much as would be needed here.

I think these were probably upholstered originally, though.
