I found the hands
I found the hands - they were in the bottom of the box. The minute hand was bent in half, but looks like I can flatten it out. The second hand is in perfect condition - good news because Vitra was going to charge 18$ for a new second hand, 18$ for new hour/minute hands, and 18$ for the mechanism. (altho $60 aint bad for an eye clock)

One other note
In playing around with the clock I noticed that the eyelashes are individually threaded through the metal frame. Someone earlier had mentioned that the vintage clocks had the longer part of the lash pointing out - doesn't seem like a difficult task to unscrew and flip them around.

it is real easy to do reverse that and it will be perfect,
I received a set of hands from vitra and the minute was bent and they are sending me another but you can just straighten that out real easy, and the sweep hands can be bought by klockit.com for 40 cents each and 5 bucks to ship kinda a rip on vitras part, the hands are a good deal but the movement and the sweeps are really rip offs since they cost so much.
But for you it will be all vitra parts and that will make you happy. that you did not have to infiltrate your clock with cheap inferior Chinese parts made in slave labor camps where 11 year old kids are getting the crap beat out of them cause they did not make there quota for the day ,
Instead the parts for your clock are made in the pictures e mountains of Bavaria on the German Border, where the workers get a hot chocolate break every two hours and a nice man delivers little dark chocolate's and gift certificates to the Vitra store for the associate who makes the most clock hands,
, so it sounds like you did good ,
I got stung yesterday as smart as i am or think i am smart. i had to buy what is a called a push on movement for a clock that had some old hands that i wanted to use that are round on both sets instead of the different configuration on all the other clocks you see,
I paid 15 bucks for a movement at a clock store and I noticed it had a number 10052 on it
I looked it up in my klockit cataloge and sure enough there it was for 2.50
so sometimes we all get a little stung
but like my wife says so what ; it is a store and they do have heat light and power and rent to think about so if that is how they make there 12.50 no big deal.

I was able to get all the pieces...
LRF - Your smarmy portrayal of the making of my clock doesnt negate the reality that China is a bad place to work.
I've managed to get all the pieces together except one tiny little brass collar that threads on between the minute hand and the second hand. The guy I spoke to at Vitra didnt think it was possible to order that part separately. Is this something I could find at a clock shop?
Below: pollution in China blowing from the factories over the residential buildings used to house the work force.

As somebody once said,...
As somebody once said, though not exactly, China may not be the end of the world but you can probably see it from there.

Luxmaster
I just got a Luxmaster floor lamp for $450(used). I found a 14w CLF bulb that would fit and don't have to use the high wattage halogen T10. Saturday was a good day!
