I happened upon this chair and everyone that comes to visit remarks about how awesome it is and ask about its history. I really don't know much about it and hoped that some of you seasoned veterans could help me identify it. what would an approx. value be? great thanks

It is often credit to Ib Kofod Larsen for Carlo Gahrn. I believe this is incorrect, as I have solid evidence that the manufacturer's name would be abbreviated meaningfully to "MS":

I've sat in a couple, and it is indeed a very comfortable design. Check live auctioneers sold listings for value. They pop up on eBay occasionally as well.
