Is my lounge chair an authentic Eames design? The former owner told me that he bought this Herman Miller piece in the 60s at Metz & Co., Amsterdam NL. There are no marks (anymore?). The base/back are chromium-plated on aluminium and are in a very bad condition. I want to replace these parts but first I want to know if this is useful. Thanks for any help.

Many thanks for your comments:
1. I already asked a specialist to renew the chromium, but he couldn't guarantee the quality/result (because of the aluminium).
2. I never heard of Hille, there is little known about this company. I visited their website, but nothing is said about their license for Herman Miller in the past? Is it possible that they supplied NL with Eames furniture in the 60s?

It looks like a Hille production chair made under licence from Herman Miller in the UK.

I like it.
And it has enough hallmarks to convince me of authenticity.
Couldn't you simply have the metal parts refinished/replated by a specialist?

Why not polish the parts?
I Recently went to re-chrome an eames aluminium group chair, they told me it would be better just to buff the old chrome off & polish. It turned out great!

Find another metals finisher.
With the proper equipment and experience, it's a straightforward job.
