Hi all,

I have several moller chairs (different models too), when some model 75's came for sale locally

I saw a chance to complete a set. Only, when arriving on scene it appeared the chairs weren't made out of oak as I believed. They are varnished quite strongly so that doesn't help either, but judging on colour (more orange than 'yellowed' oak) and grain (more dense, closed pores) it doesn't look like oak nor does it seem like teak.

My feeling says it's cherry, but was this used on model 75's?

I bought them anyway because of the long drive (damn traffic on monday) and the respect I have for these well constructed chairs. But still, damn it 🙂

They need to be re-upholstered, chairs are marked in ink.

Thanks for your insights!

Looks just like teak to me.

The 'stile' (thanks, Leif) looks odd to me as if it isn't teak and instead some variety of fruit wood and even the backrest isn't unmistakeably teak looking. But the front leg definitely looks like it is, very familiar end grain.

But I haven't been the best at identifying wood types on Mollers recently.
