I don't think the Edit button is showing up for everyone right now, maybe depending on what browser you use. I use Chrome and I haven't had an edit button for a couple of weeks.

Well, spanky, the button is there (at least when you use Firefox or the Explorer) but you cannot edit anything. There's a warning coming up, telling you that your account needs to be approved. But it doesn't tell you HOW. I would be interested, too. I'ts nice to have an edit-button, but it's even nicer when you can acutally use it.

Edit: I can edit this post easily. But I cannot edit the other post I started a thread with yesterday. Does this make sense?

Ah, ok, you have an edit button but it doesn't work. But now it does--may have something to do with the work they did on the site yesterday to keep the Chinese bots from clogging the forum with spam? I wasn't seeing the indicator for new messages in threads for a couple of weeks but this morning it is back. And now there's a Captcha control for every post (I guess, anyway---are you all getting that?), which is a bit of a pain but way preferable to page after page of spam.

I don't know, it seems a bit random. I can edit my post in this thread. I cannot edit the starting post of another thread alltough there is an edit button, but if I try, a message keeps telling me that my account needs to be approved. Appart from that I just posted an answer in the same thread, and I am not able to edit this answer because the edit button is missing completely. So: sometimes it's there and you can use it, sometimes it's there and you can not use it and sometimes It's not there at all.
