A cool looking steel frame side chair, probably british circa 1950s - maybe continental?

Can't find a similar design anywhere?

Thanks!
Ollie

So you are a 'dealer' who...
So you are a 'dealer' who doesn't know what you've got so expect the people here on DA to identify your pieces for you? Good luck with that.

Perhaps a cut of the 395.00...
Perhaps a cut of the 395.00 GBP would be of some incentive

A sin?
is being a dealer and wanting a little info on something you have the work of the devil on here,or is it nerdish snobbery from people who have an enflated idea of the knowledge base they have?like it's some sort of jedi mind trick that allows you to be in an exclusive club of ultra knowledgable nerds and we mere mortals can't get in?
if I knew what you're chairs were mate I would tell you what I know with no questions asked, and I certainly wouldn't make you think you'd done something wrong by asking a simple question.
I'm sure if the people who posted these positive ARROGANT remarks were in a room with you they wouldn't shout their little mouths off

this sites experience...
... it seems to be full of wise guys with attitudes or dealers always trying to make money.
I try not to have an attitude and I most certainly don't deal furniture, but it seems like every post I have made has been similar;
>nasty remarks or responses(atleast 1 in a thread sometimes many)
>Stupid jokes that have nothing to do with the object
>Or people accusing me and others of being dealers
and it seems to be the same few people I have come to notice.
Honestly yes... the dealers are a pain in the ass cause they fill the forum with Nonsense IDs all day long trying to make 500 dollars on a 5 dollar yard sale item.
and the snobs just ruin the clean beautiful purpose of this site.
this site is intended to help you gain knowledge on design, and for people to share there collections and interest in design, and questions about items are fine too. Unless your on here daily trying to make big bucks off our well spent time to learn about design.
thats my feeling on about how this page should be.

Hi Ollie
Nice chair mate. I will have a little hunt about in my books later (I'm sure you've done this anyway) as I remember seeing something similar. Hope all is well with you. Stew

There are too many smug...
There are too many smug trolls on this forum who think that just because somebody is asking for an ID, they are capitalist cynics. It's probably just jealousy. If a dealer has an expensive chair in their possession, why not commend them for finding it rather than berate them for asking which one it is. because let's face it, if people didn't post ID requests this forum would be 50% dead. The smug brigade really need to bog off. I personally have never seen a chair like this, if a dealer hadn't posted it then I still would not have seen it. I don't care whether an object is posted for an ID or any other reason. A new object is a new object.

This is my first ever real...
This is my first ever real post on this site and quite surprised by the reactions it's started...not a particularly open-armed welcome!
I just like to find out more about the occasional piece...is that so wrong. I'd love to be a compendium of all 20th Century Design, but i'm human. and i'm sorry for that...
Thanks for all the positive remarks.
The search continues.

The chair looks very familiar to me, its probably flashed past in my peripheries as I skimmed through a book, I'll have a dig through them later.

Hi Ollie
Hope you're well!
Some members are quite sensitive, especially the longer standing ones, of the forum continually getting flooded with ID and valuation requests from people that contribute little or nothing to the forum in other ways, often without thanking people for answers, or replying to their requests.
I also think there's a feeling amongst the trading fraternity that they're fed up with doing the legwork for other dealers regarding I'Ding and valuing their items...
That said it's always great to see nice stuff (such as your chairs) I can't help feeling I've seen them before, but just can't recall. Are the feet 'glides', do they swivel, or are they just flat metal discs ?

Hi Robert
I'm very well, hope you are too!
The feet are welded flat discs, the frame is blackened steel.
I'm surprised i haven't found it in any of my extensive searches as it must be documented somewhere?
Thanks alot, best wishes.
ollie
