STEREOLAB........is more MODERN
i have always felt that STEREOLAB and their abundant organic use of the MOOG synth . have uniquely created the soundtrack to our modernist designed view of the planet earth and perhaps others in our small solar system. george nelson was a cole porter man, but we seasoned modernist play STEREOLAB!

Going way back, a turn of the century modernist composer
was Charles Debussy, whom I only know of from the fine album by The Art of Noise, 'the seduction of charles debussy'...
I'm not sure if producing a tribute album to a modernist from a century ago, and naming your band after an essay of another modernist (Italian Luigi Russolo) makes you a modernist (I would like to think modernists look to the future rather than the past), but The Art of Noise have done many progressive projects in the modernist spirit.
I would put Aphex Twin in the same category...who, like, totally rule.
