Well I hope I'm not breaking any rules...but saw this sweet home for sale.

Perhaps a" Lustron in the Rough", including upright cheap vacuum cleaner instead? Such a deal.

62K is crazy cheap. You could always buy the Lustron, disassemble it, and move it to a new lot if you are not wild about the location.
You could not build a new place the same size for that money.
I've been in Lustron homes before. They are very cool. The only drawback I saw was the heating system. It was radiant heat in the ceiling.

Radiant heat from the ceiling opposed to the floor...wild. Cold feet, sweaty head what a combination.
There's 4 or 5 Lustrons in my community. Maybe a few more. One in my childhood neighborhood underwent a horrendous faux flagstone facelift. I should post a photo.
Mark, there's a nice "California Ranch" home not far from me up for sale. IMO, nicer than the other's you've found. Let's see if you can find it. It's in Will County and not 65K.
?
Thanks Woof.
Best,

Without getting into...
Without getting into specifics, the market value appears to be consistent with the area and type of neighborhood in the current housing climate. Price is also consistent with other similar neighborhoods in the city. Like many cities people have seen loss in homes values, but nothing dramatic in these parts. Plus side is a drop in property taxes. This house for '08 was $6k, could be down to $5500 or lower now.
In the US, home prices can always be negotiated for less, how much less is the question.
