Add Directional
I own a tuxedo-style loveseat designed by him and it's clearly marked Directional.

Inconsistant
I have had and have handled a number of Thayer Coggin/ Baughman pieces and the quality varies wildly. Some is pretty well made, while some is very poor.

your chair could be by...
your chair could be by Dansen Contemporar also of High point NC,I reckon dealers remove their labels as they look very similar to Baughmans work.I have no idea if they either copied his work or whether he sold them designs but I have seen their chairs misrepresented as Baughman/Thayer and the chair I have of theirs is lighter weight and not a good quality as the Thayer chairs I have.

I've had all sorts of similar...
I've had all sorts of similar chairs, made by a ton of different companies, so there were a lot of different chairs being manufactured in that style. I think dealers label anything in that style as Baughman, or at least Baughman style...

Isn't it ridiculous that
there has never been a book on Braughman's furniture career?
Also, isn't it about time someone does a Paul McCobb travelling exhibit and accompanying book?
I guess you could make an argument that both of them are slightly second string, but it doesn't take anything away from the fine stuff they designed.
