Note to seller: positioning books about mid-century architecture and design in your photographs does not make your used mini-blinds worth $80. Maybe if you had photographed them out in a snow bank...
This brings up a good...
This brings up a good question though. What type of window treatments look best with mid-century modern decor. In terms of personal preference, I like Roman shades better than venetian blinds, but not sure they would look right with my decor. Right now, I have regular uninspired white venetian blinds that they cato always messes up getting in and out of the windows. I'm not a huge fan of curtains especially when there is really nice woodwork around they windows...curtains just take awayes from nice woodwork, IMHO. What does everyone else use that a cat won't ruin?
Vertical blinds.
The street glass of the Museum of Modern Art sported these in the 'fifties -- I know because I saw them -- and I knew an architect then who patented Thru-Vu vertical blinds, the ones in use at MoMA. There was a short ball chain connecting the bottoms of each fabric vane, so they would turn in unison.
They're nice because you can direct the view where you like, and get privacy and light at the same time. Today they're made of plastic, without the chains -- perfect for a cat ?
