We are on the hunt for a mid-century house hopefully somewhere between 1200 to 15o00 sq ft as it is just us, no kiddos. Don't need or want anything larger Hopefully, we will find a house to our liking in the next few months. I am curious about flooring options. We dislike most flooring we have see in homes. No wall-to-wall carpet for us, and we aren't huge fans of hardwood flooring either. Those seem to be pretty much the only flooring we see in houses around this area and sometimes cheap, ugly tile. Would love something like terrazzo but the cost of that around here is prohibitive as none of the flooring people have any experience with it. While terrazzo is likely out as an option, we wouldn't mind another concrete floor type option or something similar. We also keep marine aquariums so it is always a pain to service them with wood and/or carpeted floors. We also don't love the 'tile' look. We would prefer something that has few to no seams. Preferably in a color on the lighter end of the spectrum...no black, dark gray, etc. Anyone have any suggestions that would look good in a mid-century home?
