What chair could best be described as the Mama Bear chair to go with the Papa Bear? I realize that the names Papa Bear Chair and Mama Bear Chair are both nicknames, but is there a chair generally considered the "true" Mama Bear? Carl Hansen refers to the CH78 as the Mama Bear Chair on their website, but I have also seen the AP27 described at the Mama Bear Chair as well. Is either of these more of a Mama Bear Chair than the other? Did Wegner consider either of these chairs more closely related to the AP19?
@setho212 To my best of knowledge the name Mama Bear always refered to the chair that now is sold as CH78 and once used to be AP28. AP27 is somewhat related and rather similar to AP 28 (hence the mix up) but more masculine in shape.
Whether Wegner considered AP28 to be the "true Mama Bear" is difficult to say. I'm not sure he approved of the name at all. Papa Bear and Mama Bear differ quiete a bit constructionwise. Both are upholstered and have wooden armrests, but that's about it. So generally speaking, it would certainly be more accurate to say that AP28 was the "Mama" version of AP27. But the Papa Bear was of course a better point of reference at the time
