Wow, @wesemael - another proof that Arnold Madsen did design the "Oda" chair. Did you compress the image? Just asking because the other ones were better readable. Would really like to have a good clear historical source that links this design to Madsen and Schubell.
@lexi - it is unclear weather Erik Riisager Hansen and Severin Hansen jr./Erik Severin Hansen are the same person. I'm trying to find out but I guess I need a bit of luck.

@lexi I contacted Haslev a while ago. They know nothing. Which makes me want to find out 😀.

That's interesting. I've been there a couple of times but I've never seen these chairs. I will ask Preben and see what he knows. But sure enogh the family also doesn't have all the information. Over the last couple of weeks we have found at least four chairs that apparently were made/designed by MS but were completely unknown to Preben and his brother. But then again most of these were made in Holland - and maybe only in Holland. George Tanier was only a retailer, right? They probably imported directly from Denmark, so maybe Flemming really took part in the production.
As far as the index is concerned, they corrected their information because I gave them a hint and some information. But I guess they really need catalogues or adds as a proof. I see, what we have in this regard and send it to them. STill wish I had a readable copy of that Bovenkamp catalog...

Well, I wouldn‘t necessarily say it’s dead. What just happened is that no one knew who designed the chairs you posted in a thread that was not really suited for an ID question. You should‘ve started a new thread.
@everybody else: I found new photos of MS12, supposedly produced in Denmark.

@lexi According to Flemming Schubell the company made several variations of upholstery for the mahogany frame. The one you posted is model 5. Very nice.

@herringbone; Was this model produced by, Bovenkamp, Vik & Blindheim or by themselves?
I am posting the link to the auction site where I found the image I posted above , as their reference source is included.
Good images of the chairs .
Lexi.

I don't think it was produced by Bovenkamp, otherwise it would have appeared in one of the catalogs and adverts we have found. Also it is not in the Vik and Blindheim catalog on Mats Linders page. I therefore assume that it was only made in Denmark - and maybe for export only. But as I understood the mail, Flemming doesn't remember the details. Which is no surprise given the fact that all this happened 60 years ago.

... as is explained in an endless number of posts before. 😀

@lexi I do have a George Tanier catalog and I will check it for you. He was retailer. In 1953 he started his own company. Previous to then he had been the manager of a store in New York City called Swedish Modern which obviously imported a lot of Swedish furniture but also some danish etc. He had a lot of stores across the USA.
