Yes, it's true...
... anybody who would get upset at the thought of one industrious and talented person making a thing they liked because they wanted to, even if it is, Heaven-forbid, a famous design, is an unfortunate individual who needs to take a serious inventory of what's really important. The work here is impressive, keep it up.

Re: all those LTR's that object worship has... I have a few myself, and have found them to be extremely versatile because of their small size and modularity. You can put a couple or four together to make larger tables that are STILL small.
But he might just be another Eames-obsessed hoarder. You never know. I could understand that too.
I love the LTR because it is seems so dangerously close to nothing, yet still gets away with it. So basic, it is almost too simple.
What is the very least that can possibly constitute a table anyway?
The LTR is simply a top- elevated a few inches off the ground. That is why it is a classic.

But I love lame jokes EamesHead!
And now a moment of confession. Your Aunt Mark actually has an old mahogany clock with a Mahogany Association Number! Yup. And it keeps perfect time when I bother to wind it. Family piece, circa 1900.
Off topic, as usual,
Aunt Mark, hi
We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

Fascinating. So many replies in such short duration.
Apparently I have no self-restraint, either. But I keep re-reading the OP to try and figure out what it is about it that just seems wrong (beyond the obvious practical and ethical issues) and I've decided it's the $10 amount. Or the $60 figure for that matter. I can't make either number work.

Scraps for the first two were...
Scraps for the first two were free.
The 3rd one (2nd one with with 3/16 braces) was 12$ for metal.

EH, the OP has failed to factor in
the costs of operating and maintaining a working shop.
The way I figure it, his little table was either a gift or stolen. Or both!

No no no, tktoo...
According to magee that qualifies as industrious.
In summary, dude makes a knockoff from materials he didn't pay for, brags about how little it cost him and insults the original design in doing so...
Design Addict verdict?
"GOOD LAD, WELL DONE!"
Shambolic.

in all fairness lunchbox
that is not true. I did not simply say "good job".
I pointed out the tubing proportions problems, and stressed that it was not a mere "detail"- but an important issue of proportion in the original design.
I also stated that I had mixed feelings in helping to create a knock off. So there.
But I get the spirit of your point. By the way, how is your hangover? Glad to have you back, it's fun to hear you go off.
The OP should feel proud that you lambasted him, and consider this "rights of passage". Everybody will live. Except Sofia.

Your logic sir Is just...
Your logic Mr lunchbox sir Is always full of fallacies. And mostly strawman and a few others
Callng something bite size isn't insulting It. If you remember, thats called a adjective, you know,a describing word.
And the 10$ number is more for if anyone else maybe wanted to tempt it. Which I would be more than happy to mail out a paper pattern to anyone who does have the resources to make the table
Required materials
(1) 6 ft segment of the 1/4 steel rod
(2) 6 ft segments of the 3/16 steel rod

EH...
Obviously as you were one of the few to express any reservation whatsoever I wasn't talking about you.
But the general sentiment has been quite positive from all the so called "design addicts" here, which is a joke.
