Look...
... you either like the thing for the thing, or you like it for some other intangible reasons. Not to get all Heidegger, but it is the thingness of the thing, not the name or the patent or whatever else you might fancy. That's design... that's art. You know how many Mona Lisas there are? If you really cared about such stuff, you'd have more to say about the craftsmanship or the accuracy of the attempt. Criticize those aspects, if it's so important to you, not the attempt itself. Perhaps it doesn't take much craft, but that would not appear to be the case if you're able to spot a fake on sight. If the guy really likes the tables and puts the work in to make some for himself, with all his talent and knowledge, that is worth appreciating for whatever it is. Whether you're having a go or speaking for 'the truth', you sound like a stick in the mud. And you accuse me a fascism? It's desperately pathetic.
so your answers are
1) you can spot a fake. (Hmmm yes, I thought that was my point)
2) still not addressing "the intent of the maker" issue-- other than to rail some more against the HM logo part of the otherwise PLAIN AS DAY STATEMENT OF NON-AUTHENTICITY on the part of the maker.
You look right past the aspect that I am talking about and cling to the logo rant some more. WHAT ABOUT THE BIG DARK WORDS??? WHAT DO THEY SAY?
See, I think that is unethical when you don't take a question at face value, and try to move the conversation around to something else (again and again) rather than just answer it.

I am rubber, you are glue, what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you...
Come one, everyone knows the one ring was forge in secret while he gave all the other leaders their rings. I think it be better to go with saying the meeting of the council to decide the fait of the ring was less controversial
Somehow that "under $10" part
seems to be receding even farther from reality.
Has anyone here seen "Tim's Vermeer"? I don't know why, exactly, but something about this thread reminds me of it.
I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but fabricating an accurate replica of anything as an educational challenge is one thing. Going into even limited production seems too much like another.
@difeliciantonio
I would recommend editing your first post a bold disclaimer that this whole practice is not intended for commercial production but for your own personal satisfaction. It appears that those who have not followed the conversation are unaware of your intentions.
Unless of course your intentions have changed, in which case how much would you be willing to sell them for...(stirs the pot)... I kid I kid
