but then
isn't that plagiarism?
(Assuming that the big houndstooth thing trickled down from Alexander McQueen)
And further, why isn't Lunchbox giving you shit for that? Is it because he only deals furniture? But I thought design is design, and plagiarism is plagiarism.
Its not complicated. And do we shoot the OP if it turns out he IS going to make a bunch of them? What if Lunchbox IS right? Then what? Didn't we still all have a great time giving each other shit? And its not like his work is gonna fool anybody anyway. We see these on ebay all the time. They sit.
There is edge bevel degree, top material, underside paint or laminate, label, exact kind of bends in the wire, the zinc coating, the list goes on and on, just like me.

Lunchbox isn't right...
... nobody is right if they think that it's wrong to make a copy of a thing or a piece of art or whatever for personal use. That's just stupid, sorry to say.

If you want to make a Honus Wagner baseball card...
... then by all means you should feel free to do that. I can't understand why any person would take exception to that.

No Mgee
I said what if he was right about the OP going into production? Not that we will ever know for sure, but what if he admitted it? Then what?

hmmmm
now you're just not listening to my specific question? I agree with you if OP is making one or a few for himself. But what if he said he wasn't?

In this case...
... then nothing. That's business. It isn't as respectable, as Aunt Mark said, but it's not a crime. It's more about the paranoia that people are going to be mass-producing copies of things that causes such backlash so quickly. Let's wait and see before throwing him under the bus and calling him dishonest and all they other kneejerk reactions.

"That's just stupid"
Another fantastic contribution, magee.
And EH, where have you been all these years? Fashion is not a topic for discussion on this forum.
And funny you mention shooting the OP. I suppose that would be OK if I was only doing it for my personal enjoyment, eh?

just for the record...
I did not accuse him of any dishonesty. I agree with you that if I want a HOLLIS baseball card, I should be able to make one.

Lunchbox...
... your rhetorical skills are a little rough, specifically the analogies. You're trying too hard to prove a point that doesn't exist. If somebody wants to make their own person Honus Wagner baseball card, then what possibly objection to that could you have? It does not compare.

of course lunchbox
it would be a more pure act then. Based only in philosophical beliefs of your black soul. Rather than that other thing. Whatever that was. Oh yeah, your personal enjoyment.

If you want to shoot the OP...
... and you can make money doing this over and over again, I say go for it.

Not sure where you hail from, magee...
But where I come from that's called counterfeiting. And that's considered fraudulent. And that's a criminal act.
But what the hell, right? As long as someone's enjoying it and all...

No, you're wrong again...
... counterfeiting requires distribution or passing off of the item. It also requires the deception that the item is genuine.
