Question
On the underside of the yellow seat part is there any evidence of where 4 legs might have been screwed in. They seem to be a compilation of two distinct chairs. The yellow part would have had 4 short legs in wood on the underside, somewhere between 8 and 14 inches in length. And the current dark wood part would have had an upholstered seat pad in a nubby wool tweed and there would have been a square upholstered back cushion with rounded corners between the curved back part and the seat frame perhaps extending slightly above the curved part, because those two chairs with their two components separated, I have definitely seen before. What do you think?

These look like really nice decorator chairs of the 60's or 70's
I say decorator vs
designers , In my humble opion they could be something like Edward Wormley for Dunbar, or John Widdicom
Baker would have a metal tag that rarely gets removed, What ever they are they are in nice conditon and would be worth having in your modern home as they would fit in with other nice designer pieces,

I will try and get a shot of the underside from the seller but if I dont then it will be months before I see them in person as they will go into storage before I ship them and everything else from the US to Ireland.I hope you are wrong as I would prefer they are not a marriage of two different pieces.
Hey it was just a loose...
Hey it was just a loose theory, but has not everyone seen these two chairs as two separate entities? And when one looks at the space above the rear legs where the wood meets the upholstory, there is a bit of daylight. Also the way the front edge of the upholstered part overhangs the frame. They are interesting, they just seem to have a bit of an ad hoc feel as if someone saw 2 different chairs and did a Reese's peanut butter cup design. Combine 2 existing products. I don't mean this in any disparaging way, just that it looks like it could be a possibility. I defer to the vast ocean of knowledge within this forum.
