Herpes, just kidding. The first one was taking ages to load.
Rarely go to thrift shops these days but had to go into town so checked one out.
An excellent little piece of woodturning, Tasmanian myrtle, concave base, no chuck marks and shallow with a thin edge. Very pleasing and humble, a slide rule in a well designed plastic case with an alteration by a no doubt bored volunteer and a pink glitter ducati T shirt, gay Italian bikers of the world unite and take over.
All for $3.50! Keep on drooling.
nope ..
originals. with the fiasco going on in the world of Miro authentification; i'm wouldn't even THINK of sending them in for a piece of paper right now. maybe in a few years things will settle ... or not. either way these are home for the long haul. even though my 4 yr old thinks she can draw better. LOL.
i try to live my life like a picker without the worry of reselling. i tend to move things when i need to make room or if i'm making some ungodly profit on something i don't particularly like. my wife thinks i should run a business, but i'm afraid it would take all the fun out of it.
Couple new things
Just got this fiberglass chaise from a neighbor. It sat by their pool for many years, now they want to sell the house so they are getting rid of everything that's interesting. A friend suggested naming it the "Banana Hammock" but I'm not sure that is a great idea.
Also bought this bin full of "rubbish" though I suspect it's actually art.
I always recommend church sales...
I got this unmarked fella for fifty cents, he's 14" extended and the planter for two dollars, it's about 17" x 13" high. I live/shop in the New York area and people can get, to put it nicely, aggressive at the sales and I've witnessed more than a few fights. It's annoying at times but the fun of finding stuff like this keeps me going.
