nice find!!
I was driving down the subdivision in Metairie, Louisiana and did a double take at a curb near an old small house. I slammed on my breaks, put my Element in reverse, jumped out, grabbed the old chair and speed away. I'm driving away from the house thinking, "The chair was next to trash and garbage collection is in 2 days. Was the chair actually garbage? Is it authentic? It can't be. Is it?"
White Barcelona chair. Turned out to be a repro. Still a free find.
table
Just picked this up on craigslist - paid $260 for it.
Apparently a one of a kind made by a designer who worked for Selig named Finn Andersen (per his grand daughter who sold me the table). Can't find much on him so I can't validate that.
It's kind of low at 27" but it actually works well because we use that couch as our main dining spot.

a throw in, believe it or not
I bought a 2nd Folke Ohlsson Breakdown Lounge Chair on eBay and picked it up while I was on vacation. Hey, it breaks down! Anyway, the guy kept on insisting that it came with a lamp. A lamp I had never seen. In his mind, they were a pair. So, I go to pick it up. The chair is great. The guy great. The lamp is a TERRIFIC Gerald Thurston for Lightolier Walnut Sleeve Floor lamp with it's original, sheep skin Leonard R. Foss Shade, In near mint condition.
Life can be odd sometimes. Pics after I have unpacked.
That's where it went!
I guess my sister sold that table. Hadn't seen it in quite a while but I fondly remember the first time I saw it in the early 70's and thought he (my grandfather Finn) had made a mistake with the top and just made the best of it. As I grew older and more knowledgable about his style I realized that it was just his style. I hope you enjoy his style too. He passed away in 2000 and his wife passed away this spring (2011). I inherited quite a few pieces from her but unfortunatly, I didn't have room for it all and it was sent to a consignment shop in Seattle.
just junking
after going to the farmer's market and got an Art Deco Fred Farr for Revere Letter holder and a Plastic Waltham Retro Ball Clock which I have no idea how to open. So there
EDIT - OK pics. Bad pic of the Waltham clock. It is round and the back is green. Figured out how to open it! and it works
The lamp is the Lightolier by Gerald Thurston. The shade, while fabric on the outside, is sheep skin on the inside and made by Leonard Foss, which is back in business. As I understand it the vintage versions of these shades are very desirable, and I suspect this is vintage. NICE lamp

I dig the lightolier lamp. do you by any chance have any lightolier literature/catalogues? Impossible to find any info on Thurston... Many Lightolier lamps out there from the 50's/60's and at least once a month another pops up that I have not seen before. Would be nice to find a catalogue/s with them all in it.
