objet d'art
Riki,
First and foremost, The Ark is that "mean spirited fellow" and I am a nice guy.
I suppose that the Keith Haring, Inflatable Baby for Pop Shop is an objet d'art at best and a piece of art (the galleries in New York) in some peoples minds or marketing.
After I acquired this piece my fiancée ask "what are we going to do with that thing". I took that to be a truly ringing endorsement.
At the price I see this advertised and sold for it is "the kings clothing". At the price I paid it is just one more toy.
Thank you for your question.
whew
2 wheeled/tilting reading tables, one FURBO the other not sure (one all teak the other chromed legs).
1 Mobler (I am 99% sure) large dining table w/ leaves. Needs a wee bit of fixin' but can't be beat.
2 Luxo lamps. I sure do like Luxo lamps
and one really weird enameled plate (over copper) with a cool chicken on it and a signature that LOOKS like OLI, but am still trying to figure that out. Whew.
Did I mention the Milo Baughman Cube chair? I think I did. I need another hobby, I mean a DIFFERENT hobby. One that takes up less space
My apologies,
niceguy, I had you confused with someone who has, alas, left us for snootier pastures.
As far as the no-space-left-for-more-stuff issue, do what works for me: buy another house.
My latest purchase is a chalet in the French Alps. We don't even own it yet but I am already buying crap for it! My dilemma: how do you furnish a really, really Heidi-ish chalet with mid-century stuff and still keep it chalet-esque?
Here's the dining table I bought for it on Saturday. It's from the Naver collection from Gramrode Mobelfabrik designed by Soren Nissen and Ebbe Gehl.
Chair suggestions?
Dude, you
need to hush before you make a fool of yourself. I am the Queen of Second Hand. I don't pay retail for anything except toothpaste.
I've got a bet going with my husband that I can furnish this entire house for less than 10,000 francs and have fun in the process of hunting/gathering. Jeez.
