At a local thrift shop yesterday- Extremis Extempore outdoor table, bench, and two arm chairs. Designed by Arnold Merckx. Ridiculously heavy and beautifully constructed. Retail price new for all of it- well over $10K. I paid $500....... My crappy cell phone pics don't do it justice-I have attached a link to the Extremis site

Why would someone give that away?
I ask that question all the time when I see some incredible finds on here.
Unfortunately, in my local market I ask the question, "why would you try selling that?" far more often. See the link for a prime example from today.

My wallet, it hurts us
Well its for making the stuff so...I hav'nt spent up like that in years, feeling kind of hysterical.
I'll keep it short because I could rant and get pompous but peak oil is real and happening so start buying quality, I mean last the rest of your life repairable type quality and if you need to import do it now while its cheap because it won't be in 5 years time.

nice bird
jesgord,
Nice bird.
I have very little expertise in this area. Is there more to the story. Was there a specific designer and or particular manufacturer? What is the year of design and year(s) of production? I hope these questions do not "put you out" as this is how I learn.

Made in Italy, distributed by Raymor, 1960's. Some have attributed theses to Aldo Londi.
