havent' posted in a while,
so many beautiful things! I am a little jealous of your book jesgord! As a fellow book-geek i recently picked up "John Lautner, Architect" which is very nice but sans autograph.
here are some of my finds from the last weeks:
Edvard Kindt-Larsen table, France & Son - 70?
Willy Guhl diablo planter - for free
danish chrome & teak jug - does anyone know it?

I like your place.
I got...
I like your place.
I got a couple of books this morning, $7.50, one on the chaps responsible for Gatwick and all sorts of other entrancing monsters and a 'be modern retro at home' sort of thing, nothing special, good to look at for wood turning profiles.

Heath,I agree- thrift stores are Hell sometimes...
Unfirtunately, due to "the economy" they are more popular than ever. And they often are as busy as a mall store at Christmas time. However, the screaming brats running in the aisles, the exceedingly loud cell phone abusers, and ladies blocking aisles with their carts are the annoyances you must endure if you're going to find that treasured item!

I'm so bloody sick of 'the economy', like thats all that matters...a few lessons in needs versus wants would have most people working half the time, anyway I won't start on that one.
Most of my stuff comes from thrift stores, so I'm pretty used to them but it was an especially bad day, I've discovered though that when the childs usually equally ghastly mothers back is turned a hate fueled glare is enough to shut them up for at least a few minutes, one day I'm going to tell one of these parents to keep their revolting little darlings locked in the car, preferably on a very hot day, with no water.

Nice! Are you sure the black one isn't enammeled? Some copco I've got is like that but its a matte black that just looks like raw cast iron.

Love those handles, jesgord.
If only I knew what the hell to DO with dutch ovens, it'd make my own collection of Copco somewhat less superfluous. Maybe I'll donate them all, then when I want to admire their enameled loveliness I'll just go to google images. When beautiful objects are only a few key strokes away, I feel less & less the need to OWN much of anything.

No, I'm sure its just cast...
No, I'm sure its just cast iron. Didn't realize how desirable these were. the smaller size oval in cast iron recently sold on ebay for $355.00. I have a Sarpaneva Rosenlew pan that uses both shiny and dull black enamel.....different monster from the Mari piece.

Know what you mean about owni...
Know what you mean about owning things but when you really start cooking with them its worth having them, for a vegetables au gratin you can pull them out of the oven, they stay warm and keep cooking for a while, there must be hundreds of results from a 'le creuset recipes' search?
They look to be in perfect condition, don't sell, cook! If you get the underside wet and it rusts within a day it'll be raw cast iron, the black one is far nicer.

I love the black one. My wife made a pot roast in it last night. These two will be staying in my already too large enamelware collection. For the moment, these have supplanted my Sarpaneva Saturnus pots, at the top of my list.

That Saturnus pot is crazy!
But a good kind of crazy. Never seen it before, must be pretty rare.
