I really like to see all the things people on this forum get for their homes or in some cases to sell.
Today (I am somewhat superstitious and never post an acquisition until the deal is finalized) I got the Ernesto Gismondi Metacolor metamorfosi floor lamp for Artemide. My cost for this floor sample was $200.00 net.
I will use this in the corner of my dining room.
just wandering
today, but did get
1 realllly nice italian tile/mosaic coffee table (every home should have one)
4 Teak DS Vorster Dining Chairs (South Africa)
2 Nice bentwood thonet chairs
1 really nice danish teak and leather footstool
1 great steelcase aluminum and bright green upholstery desk chair (son using it to play piano as I write this)
and took the Florence Knoll chairs in to be cleaned. They are going to be SWWEET
EDIT: And just for yucks, check out the swing arm clamp lamp that I bought. What is so interesting about that you think to yourself? It's about 8 feet end to end.
can do!
I was hoping to get a response from you! Later today
Still haven't bought the SA table I mentioned before. I just don't have the room. But it is still there and I think it was matched with these chairs (same thrift store). Eventually I know I will buy it when I have more room
shifty...
just nabbed this lidded ceramic bowl for $10 at the corner thrift...a $10 dollars i had to borrow from an ex-coworker only telling them i was "in a tight spot"...i feel horrible, but it couldnt be helped, theyll get there $10 back tomorrow and i got this today..it works...only thing is im not sure the intended use, the lid has a tiny "vent" hole in it...its very nice quality, about 12 inches diameter by 6 inches in height and appears to be of the period, would love to know who made items like this as ive always liked this type of thing but have no idea what to search under....any thoughts, other than the obvious??
I picked up one of my dream...
I picked up one of my dream pieces for a mere $400. A almost 7' Rosewood credenza from Westnofa. About 3 weeks ago I hit and eBay listing just right and snagged with a "buy it now" a Eames walnut stool "C" from a former employees house $200.

Had a horrible week, quit my job in a volcanic manner (that felt goooood, no i in team) and was really looking forward to the saturday morning cool stuff hike around town, the good furniture isn't as common anymore but thats okay, I got these teak Osolnik style candlesticks that I think might be something known, one has a bit of a burned edge buts its fine. A local cedar platter, probably the most sort after timber around here, very rare now. This salt (with little spoon) pot that has a pivoting lid with a magnet to hold it in the right position, I think its olive wood. $11.00 total, they're like high end craft galleries here and I hardly even look at the ceramics, I think its that people go on driving holidays and feel they should buy something and then lose interest. Lucky me.
Matty, I think that would be a garlic or dried flower (girly smelly stuff) pot.
