Just picked up an amazing Swedish modern Mjolby Intarsia chess board and set just like the one pictured below. $25 on Craig's List. The scale is very impressive.

That is a very nice chess set. Probably my favorite so far. I also got something Swedish recently. I do not know what glass company made the lamp, as the tag only says "Made in Sweden".

Thanks for the heads up on Uno Westerberg/Bohlmarks. After a quick Google search I see a number of lamps with Bohlmarks labels that I have seen in the past, and liked a lot, but had no idea who designed or made them, other than that they were often attributed to Pape and/or Pukeberg. Some are quite similar to my new lamp, as you pointed out:

nice set but.....
I really like that chess set, and the fact you got a nice board to go with it. But.....you set up the pieces wrong. The far right square in the first row should be white. Then, the rule goes, the queen goes on the square of her own color. If you follow those rules, you should be able to follow games in the chess books without any confusion. Again,...nice chess set.

Thanks Pirx. For the record, that's not actually my set-just a picture of the same one that I found on the web.

sarfatti 3001
A small angled chrome spot lamp, probably Kovacs or Sonneman ??? any thoughts?
And fresh from Italy, but not so fresh looking, a nice Sarfatti 3001 flush mount light fixture. Overlooked by the dealer, who did say it might be an Arteluce piece, but had no other info. Luckily I was a little bit more familiar with Sarfatti's early, yet simple, flush mounts. Original glass and sockets, but needs a little tlc. Not sure if I should repaint it or not. Will it affect value if I do that? I will be selling it eventually.
