Thought I ought to start a new one, as we passed 100.

And why not open with a real showpiece (at least, that's what I thought):
a modular sofa set by Hans Olsen, produced by N.A. Jorgensen and distributed by Bramin (it's labeled Bramin, Made in Denmark on the underside of the table).

After losing out on a Vodder desk (remember my question about reproducing drawers) and some other items I feel I hit the jackpot.

I bought it very, very low price. All woodwork is immaculate but the rattan needs to be redone. Does anybody here have experience with such a thing, what could be the cost?

Spectacular.
I've never seen a Danish tennis match but, I'm imagining this at the sidelines. Congratulations on your find.

This morning I picked up
a Hohner Marine Band Harmonica from the local charity resale store. My better half has threatened divorce if I dare learn how to play it. I sanitized it and attempted to play "Happy Birthday". He left for the airport immediatly.
Oh my,
Aunt Mark

Fantastic score-one of my favorites, Congrats!!!
As for the caning, if you are a bit industrious and willing to put in some time/work, you can do it yourself. See the thread below. tchp's guide which is linked in the thread is extremely helpful. Its harder than working with papercord, but once you get the hand of it, not so bad. I did two chair backs and was very pleased with the results.

The price of a cane job
varies wildly depending on your location. Like, as much as 300% or more.

bj, it is a big help to have most of the caning intact if you opted to try doing it yourself. If you start to carefully dissect it, taking some photos as you go along, you can figure out the method they used. Those chairs use a pretty wide piece of cane, and it is not a really densely woven pattern, so it could be less time consuming than some.

The second one of my Wegner project chairs just arrived, so I am going to have some caning work to do myself at some point, once the other restoration work is done.

Have the rear legs been
shortened slightly, on the right-hand chair ? Check against the other -- unless both are from the same source. Owners do funny things, sometimes . . .
Beautiful chairs. Love the aged color.

The chair on the right is...
The chair on the right is 76cm tall, which is the same as original spec, and the chair on the left is a couple mm shorter, and shows more sliding wear on the bottom of the legs. So, it is actually the chair on the left which is shorter.

'Look Modern' in Portland Ore had one of these in last month, not sure if theirs had any repair work done, but they might have some info for you.

Some sort of artwork on aluminum plate, signed AFMardi, and a Nordmende Spectra Futura. These are often attributed to Raymond Loewy but never found any proof of that. Could this be true?
