lunchbox: paul mccobb set
Lunchbox, i recently (last week) picked up six of those chairs. One has a broken spoke... but i should be able to save it.
The set i bought also came with a table but i don't think it's a McCobb. Can you send me a pic of the table yours came with? I'd like to compare it... mvalenzuela27@gmail.com
Where are you located? I'm in Texas...

I've always really liked those McCobb ladderback chairs -- free? That's incredible.

today's finds
at a local thrift store
The green chairs are by that not quite fashionable G-Plan.
Not sure about the chair yet, but does say "made in Sweden". Needs a bit of work

I've been thinning down the herd lately, but I was glad to pick these up - designed by Olavi Hänninen in around 1958; hen's teeth as I had never even seen one in the flesh before...

This may have been dumb -- I have no room for it and am going to have to sell something if I want to keep it -- but I couldn't pass this up: a Hans Wegner CH-33, which is one of my all-time favorite chairs, in jet black. I have only seen this chair in teak, I think, but never painted. It looks so striking in black. I wondered it someone had painted it themselves, but it absolutely looks original. Also cool, it has the Illums Bolighus metal tag under the seat.
The lines on this chair are just amazing. Just have to figure out where to put it now.

Over the weekend my wife purchased this set for our flat. Out with the old in with "old". We love it...

Very nice, gene
It would make a lovely "accent" chair.

Thanks, Woody. I think it would make for a beautiful desk chair, too (if only I had a desk).

g plan
as a followup
how frowned upon is g plan furniture? The quality seems to be there, and the designs seem good, if a bit safe, but is it seen as kind of mid century Target?

Waffle..
some G Plan is sought-after, particularly the 'Danish Range' designs of Kofoed Larsen.
