@vintagehawkeye -- we've had several offers so far, but I think we're going to hold on to it for a while. I'm pretty sure I'll never find another.

Yes, electric trimmer works great.
I've used one for the same thing-pilling and also ratty looking leather from cat's claws. It's terrific. Then I use it on my face and head for that bloody punk look.

FINALLY i scored something
--two of these teak dining chairs, listed for $25/pr but I offered a little more because I liked them and thought they were worth it and wanted to be sure I got them.
I found a few sets online being sold as Rastad Relling Bambi dining chairs but found another set with that name but that were straight across the top backs and had thicker seat rails. So....I dunno.
Also, the seller for mine had one plywood seat that she thought was original. It looks factory made to me, with regular 1/4" perforations to ventilate the latex foam that was on it. It was attached to the chair at the center of each rail on the underside with a small screw and a tab on the plywood, I think. Best guess.
An upholstered plywood seat doesn't make a lot of sense with the style of rails, though. It was about 1/4" narrower on each side than the seat frame and just rested on top, not in a rabbeted groove. Plus the rails have rounded edges. Other examples of this chair have woven binder cane seats and I'm wondering if that's what these had and someone added the plywood seats a long time ago when the cane got damaged. There are also some with leather seats with a stitched grid.
Anyway, I like them and am gonna do new cane seats and either keep them or sell them, I dunno. They'll be fun and easy to do and I'm looking forward to it, if and when I get the time...

Spanky,Rastad & Relling i...
Spanky,
Rastad & Relling is probably the right call, as there is currently a craigslist posting in my hood for this exact same chair (with an upholstered seat). The listing says the chair is stamped "Made in Norway".
Ergo, by the transitive property of geometry . . .
Looking forward to seeing the final product on your blog.

a little thing but lovely
I have picked up some pretty nice stuff recently but this might be my favorite. Hard to describe? A parquet tray? Wood block? Whatever. But luscious.

I got some very old looking rugs for $3 dollars each at a thrift store, which I still rather like in spite of how worn they are. It has otherwise been ages since I found anything at a thrift store at all.

Well spanky, after looking...
Well spanky, after looking at your new Rastad & Relling chairs and checking them out on the interwebs, I decided to inquire about the one I previously mentioned was on craigslist in my hood. The seller was willing to knock a decent chunk off his asking price, so I picked it up yesterday. It appears to be the same dark teak like your chairs, but the seat is a poorly-fitted contribution by a previous owner. In examining the frame last night, I believe the original seating was leather, similar to the one posted earlier in the thread. There are fade lines right where the leather would have stopped before the legs.
The leather seat pattern is a design in which I have become quickly interested, and will probably implement here. It appears to be a simple construction of two wide straps of leather oriented in a fat cross layout. A nine-square grid of stitching ties the two pieces together, with the leather cross then ready to be simply tacked or staples to the underside of the seat frame (I am including a larger photo of the leather seat to see the stitching easier). There are tack holes on the underside of my chair frame, but I think I will wrap around another 90 degrees to the inside face, both for visual and tactile cleanliness.
Also picked up at a vintage fair yesterday was a generic Danish (or Danish style) side chair. The quick photo below does not do any justice to the poor shape of the wood finish and white alligator vinyl patterning seat. It may be teak, but won't know for sure until cleaning some of the grime off. Since I was able to get it for only $25 and the frame is structurally sound, I thought it would be a good project to document before/after shots.

I expect you already know this; your table is designed by Georg Jensen, for Kubus. Nice.

Love your rugs.
They look surprisingly great with your Danish Modern furniture.

Got a pair of these from thrift store.
Bought two of these yesterday, sticker says "Made in Japan". I think it is twisted paper that is forming the "upholstery". Amazing that paper can be so durable! One of them has some damage, but the price was very good. Does anyone have info on when these Japan made versions were made? Sorry the photo is so large. Could not find a link on photobucket to resize it.

Bolby Præstekraven
It's finally here. It took a year before I found it. Very happy.
