Bought this
Omega at a garagesale during a weekend in the Ardennes/Belgium, Bastogne region. Sat in a box with some other watches, 5 euro each.
It looks like new...

thanks woody
I'm usually not a fan of gold watches, but this classic and balanced design spoke to me instantly.
I have several Tissot's, this is my first Omega. I like the workmanship and technical mastery that goes into such a watch (albeit a quartz watch in this case, an early one though).

Curious. Is your Hovmand Olsen chair stampd underneath because they make repros out of Thailand of that specific chair. Not sure how to tell them apart. I assume the originals would be stamped.

To all those familiar with Arthur Elliott's amazing Universum (Space Age) Chess set designed for the Italian chess manufacturer Anri, I present what must be the largest version of this set produced.
It is colossal (the king and queen are taller and heftier than most Dansk Pepper mills) That is an extra large egg perched atop the white king. When I bought it, I knew it was bigger than the usual set, but did not grasp how large it actually is. Amazingly It also retains all the detail of the regular sized version. My compulsion with modernist chess sets continues.... Am guessing this may have been a store display used to sell the set?
Edited to show size compared to regular Anri Universum pieces

Nice jesgord
Now you just need a giant board to go with the set.

I happened across a 7" diameter shade, and decided to make a Noguchi cylinder lamp for myself, following the same construction details as the originals, although my shade is not of the same material, and the legs are teak, rather than cherry.

Thanks
In the thrift stores I will still keep my eyes open for a real one, along with that chieftain chair that never shows up for some reason. Won't be making one of those.

bought two
Dux Galaxy chairs by Alf Svenson, well-camouflaged (see picture). I had nothing but this photo to judge and had to ride quite a bit to pick this up. Price was low enough to justifie...
When I called the seller they were sure the original fabric was lost when their mother changed it together with the curtains (sigh).
So it was a nice surprice when arriving home to see the original upholstery was hiding below, although stetched through I could entirely save it.
(second picture comes from Wright and shows the fabric and shells as they are on mine)
