Gene, you might very well be...
Gene, you might very well be right about the date, I'm just guessing.
My guess is based partly on the type of environment where I think I've seen this before. I was born in the early 1970's and have seen it several times. I can't remember exactly where, but it most probably was in the house of some friend's parents.
The lines of the chandelier is also cleaner compared to the more "rustic modern" style I would normally associate with Höglund and other makers of wrought iron 1960-1970's in Sweden. This is why I think it might be later, but that is just a hunch.
tchp...
I have 5 Lotte lamps in various styles I've collected over the years.
Being from Canada they are somewhat easy to find in thrifts stores, although the higher end stores here sell them for a very high price.
The shades that are wrapped with natural jute emit the most impossibly beautiful glow...I have not grown tired of their beauty despite having them for many years now.
added: the lamp looks quite lovely and right at home in your home....
those are
really stunning lamps. So sophisticated
Now on to the just odd. The chair below has great lines. I was confused by the back piece for a moment until I realized the WHOLE THING is one piece of molded fiberglass. The rattan-ish part and the round frame. The rest is nice heavy gauge metal. check out those tapering legs!
Also picked up 5 orphan JHQ Dansk 4 duck flatware stirring spoons w/ a strange, ribbed handle. Not like any I've seen....
(2) Eames Zenith Rope Edge
Armchairs I recently and luckily picked up for $20USD a piece! Been stored away since 1974. Reason I know this is that the bases were wrapped in newspaper from that year. They are in great shape with the original shine that is just wonderful. The checkerboard label is in great condition on both as well. They differ from my RAR Zenith in that they have the extra bar across the bottom. Anybody know what this bar is for or why it is there on this model?
