Pair of early Quistgaard brass candlesticks, for next to nothing (less than $1). And a wrought iron coffee table from the Goodwill with peculiar teardrop-shaped wooden feet, $9.99.

TCHP
how are you finding your new locale? Good hunting?
Back to the shell. I will look v. carefully, but what I saw (looking v. carefully) was a tiny raised Z and an ink mark (a circle w/ a 2 COMM Z) I will look again. I am interested as to the vintage of this chair.

Nelson X-Leg table. $15
Bad news: rusty legs, and the previous owner made some unauthorized "mods" to the top.
Good news: the rust cleans up pretty well (I cleaned the set on the left), and a local shop made me a new walnut top. Picking it up tomorrow.

thanks!
I get AT LEAST one offer a month to buy that rug (I use it as a backdrop for photos of stuff I am peddling). To quote the Dude, it really pulls the room together.

I think I did well.
I was on craigslist and picked up one item, and then when I got to the house the couple said they had more...The husband had been stationed in Germany and then they went to Denmark 48 years ago and bought all their furniture. Everything was very nice.
They said they had some tables in a pile in the celler and were selling them in addition to the original item I went to pick up.
100 bucks for all three. I grabbed them. They need some love in terms of the top finish, but structurally are nick and dent free.
I was thinking they are actually
Kindt-Larssen?
Sorry for the poor phone pics. Better off doing daytime shots.

Waffle
Did not see your question earlier. It might be some time before my house sells, so it could take a while before there is a new locale, so to speak.
Nice Kindt-Larsen set. I have the same three pieces. Not acquired for $100 though.

I have a question regarding refinishing on these Kindt-Larssen.
Obviously these are beautiful as is, but there is quite a bit of water ring damage and overall finish issues. No dings or wood damage, but, do you think it is worth getting these professionally refinished?
I never do this with an Eames or other pieces, but sometimes feel Danish modern items seem to be accepted more with a proper refinishing.
Thoughts? Sorry not trying to turn the thread into a refinishing topic, just curious about these in particular. Refinishing is generally something I avoid, but these seem to really need some love.

makes sense
good luck w/ that TCHP. Tough housing market everywhere.
Bought a dining table today. Will post pics tomorrow. REALLY nice but completely unmarked so I will be looking for opinions.
BTW, had the Grete jalk table refinished and not thrilled. Did a decent job on the stain but botched the finish. Looks like I will finish the job meself.

I have had the Kindt-Larssen coffee table
They're easy to re-finish, being made from solid teak.
My one was in a terrible state, but came up beautifully after a heavy sanding and oiling. My brother has it now and loves it.
