Two recent charity shop finds
Just picked up a (brand-new, unused) Zenit condiment set by Marc Newson from a nearby charity shop for a princely £9. Also, another recent find, 4 Senatori glasses by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala in their original box, for an even more princely £2.

I ended up going with the Hallingdal #370 for my Wegner sofa, which I got back from the upholsterer yesterday. I think they did a nice job, and I am pleased with it. I had it done with no welt, slip-stitched with no zippers, and kept the original sprung cushions.
On the way home from the upholsterer I picked up some Michael Lax cast iron at the Goodwill for $20.

it has 6 rather than 7 spindles. No exposed screws. All the spindles and many of the other pieces are pretty obviously hand turned/made. I think this is a very early version.

Thank you. The new sofa replaces a Selig "picket back" set I sold recently (sofa and three matching chairs). I am always struggling to balance my preference for minimalism with my tendency to hoard thrift store finds.

tchp, your room is incredibly beautiful! I particularly like the little pop of color that lovely turquoise lamp provides. I think I'm going to pretend I live there for the next 30 minutes.
