Its beyond ridiculous.....I...
Its beyond ridiculous.....I saw them first on Friday-that's right, Friday. They were in front of a building near a set back entrance (kind of like a stoop) to a ground level food prep, catering operation. I made a brief inquiry inside about them that day, and although no-one knew why they were there, a couple people told me that they didn't think they were trash. Well, I went back today on my lunch hour and they were STILL there (How this is possible, I don't know, as its literally a half a block away-on the same side of the street as a big well picked thrift shop.) This time I went inside and asked everybody in the place. The person in charge told me that they had been there for a few days, no-one knew where they had come from and I was free to take them. They acted like I was doing them a favor taking the chairs away. Totally fucking crazy!!!!!!!
Heywood Wakefield
I bought a Heywood Wakefield kneehole desk in wheat at my local thrift store (on my way to work). I was able to pick it up for very little money (I think it was $20).
I tried to load it into the back of my VW beetle, and some guy with a pick-up truck in the parking lot took pity on me and offered to deliver it. LOL. I was so worried that someone would try to buy it before I could, that I took out one of the drawers and stood in line with it!
It need to be refinished, but I love it!
Sorry my pics aren't as good as all of yours! 🙂
it does seem like
we should have a on the sidelines way of discussing acquiring one another's stuff. something less formal than Radar. A secret signal like $>- that would say in essence "I love that! I want it! I will buy it! Let's take this offline!"
You know, just among friends...
