This sweet credenza made by (as the label tells me) Ulferts of Tibro, Sweden. It was at a local goodwill store for $70, which is on the high end of prices for stuff at goodwill.
All the cabinets on the bottom are locking and I was happily surprised to find the master key in a top drawer.
There's not too much information out there on MCM furniture produced by Ulferts, if anyone has additional information I'd love to hear it.
EDIT: Please ignore the hideous fake flowers and vase on top of this, the photo was taking inside the goodwill store.
My turn
I recently bought this Nelson dining room set from a friend's parents. He first told me about the set years ago, and mentioned that his folks might be interested in selling it. Well, 5 years later, they finally decided it was time.
They bought all of the pieces (6 Nelson Pretzel chairs, the gate-leg table and the BSC hairpin leg buffet) as a set when brand new, and the pieces have remained together ever since.
The finish is original on everything. All of the seat cushions still intact and resilient. And here's the kicker: those little pieces of paper hanging from the furniture are the original Herman Miller showroom hang tags! Mom kept them in a drawer of the buffet all these years.
Haven't decided if I'll keep it yet.
Pegboard - Actually, that's my friend's living room. He took the picture.
Tulip - I also considered that maybe the set belongs in a museum. Normally, when I've seen auction results for Pretzel chairs, it's only a couple chairs, and usually they're without the seat pads. I've never heard of a set of six, all together since new, and all with their original seat pads.
I haven't decided yet whether or not to keep the set. I confess that I bought it with the intention of reselling, but now I'm not so sure.
You all know how these objects seduce us. 🙂
